HaSOFER means STa"M
Our name is what we are: Hasofer is Hebrew for the scribe. STa"M is the acronym in both English
and Hebrew for Scrolls (Megillot), Tefillin and Mezuzot. Throughout the ages and continuing today
at HaSOFER, the sofer writes STa"M longhand with a kulmus, quill pen, on specially prepared klaf,
parchment. Look for our sofer holding his kulmus in the background of the page you're reading. That
way you know you're on the original HaSOFER web site: your trusted source on the web for kashrut
and value in Israeli-made tefillin, mezuzot, megillot and Jewish gifts.
