Planning a visit to Israel? Whether your trip is only days away or far in the future, be sure you include a visit to HaSOFER's Jerusalem shop in your schedule. You'll be glad you did. In addition to seeing firsthand all of the fine Jewish ceremonial and gift items which we stock, our staff will be glad to answer any and all questions you have about these items and their use and how they're made.

Interested in seeing how tefillin are made?

While you're in our shop we'll be glad to give you a tour during which you'll learn about all the steps involved in making tefillin. HaSOFER's offices and workrooms include:

• Areas where sofrim are writing and examining items of STa"M
• Workrooms for refinishing and painting tefillin boxes
• Areas for sewing tefillin boxes and megillot
• Stations for new sofrim in training

Tours are generally available on a drop-in basis, but it's best to call or email ahead and reserve your tour to be sure.

Need your tefillin checked but can't get to our shop while you're here?

HaSOFER provides pickup and delivery service to hotels and guest apartments in the Jerusalem area. We'll pick up your tefillin for checking, give you a loaner pair to use temporarily and return your checked and refurbished tefillin to you when they're ready. We can also often make similar arrangements for locations outside Jerusalem. Pickup and delivery service must be arranged in advance and is subject to an additional charge.
